Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2024

Owen Maki was honored to be the voice behind Japan’s national rugby team during the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2024, announcing the matches against the Maori All Blacks and Georgia.

Looking ahead, Japan’s next match is on September 6th at the Pacific Nations Cup 2024 against the United States at Kumagaya Rugby Stadium.

DAICEL BLIND FOOTBALL JAPAN CUP 2024 in Osaka

Owen Maki had the privilege of announcing the final and third-place matches at the Daicel Blind Football Japan Cup 2024.

Japan's women’s blind soccer team is also a powerhouse. I first witnessed a women’s national team match in 2020, and Sora Kikushima was absolutely phenomenal, scoring five goals in the final minutes of the second half.

The men's blind football team will make its debut at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on September 1st against Colombia, with live coverage on NHK E-Television in Japan.

Postscript: Despite a valiant effort, Japan finished 8th out of 8 teams. We’re confident that they’ll use this experience to come back even stronger.

Ota Junior Challenge Cup

As the arena MC for B.LEAGUE’s Gunma Crane Thunders, Owen Maki had the honor of hosting the Ota Junior Challenge Cup, a mini basketball event organized by the Ota Junior Chamber.

The children stood tall on the court, equipped with Japan’s top-tier visuals and sound system. What must they have felt under the bright lights? We hope their experience inspires them to continue chasing their dreams.

We’re grateful to have played a small role in amplifying their excitement.
