Hello from the Owen Maki Office – this is Kunio Yoshitani.
In this issue, we’re excited to share highlights from August and September, featuring Owen’s work with NHK and the WEC Fuji event. Thank you for taking the time to read!
What began as 'Like the World! Tweet English' (Sekai ni iine! Tsubuyaki Eigo), then evolved into 'Hikaru Ota's Tweet English' (Ota Hikaru no Tsubuyaki Eigo), has now become '#BuzzEnglish - See the World Through SNS' (#Buzz Eigo 〜SNS de Sekai o Miyou〜), growing with each step.
The show began shortly after the launch of 'Like the World! Tweet English,' during the challenging COVID-19 state of emergency. Cast members joined remotely from separate rooms or even from home, facing difficulties right from the beginning. The show’s success is thanks to the dedication of the production team, the hard work of the cast, and, most importantly, the warm support from our viewers. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude 🙏 for everyone’s contributions.
The post above is a video announcement for the show's launch on "X" (formerly Twitter), about six months ago. Reflecting on the beginning, it brings back memories of the initial excitement.
Owen Maki continues to put his heart into every word, hoping to resonate with viewers through his voice. Thank you for your continued support as we move forward together.

This race is a major annual event at Fuji Speedway as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). This year saw a record-breaking 65,800 attendees! 🎉 However, if you’re thinking, 'Isn't it just another car race?' think again! ✋
Consider the renowned "24 Hours of Le Mans." As a young boy, I was glued to the TV, captivated by the sight of Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda battling European teams through the night 📺💫. In fact, this race is part of the same series as Le Mans! 😲‼️
The WEC (World Endurance Championship) brings together prototype and GT cars, challenging both speed and durability in long races. The "24 Hours of Le Mans" was the 4th round of the 2024 season, while the "6 Hours of Fuji" is the 7th, spanning 8 countries to crown the ultimate endurance champion! 🏆
To feel the excitement of WEC Fuji, check out "WEC 2024 Season Race Digest" produced by Fuji Speedway (Fuji Motorsports Forest). This video provides a great overview of the entire series.
Below are some photos taken by Owen at the Fuji Speedway and Mount Fuji🏎️🗻. The scenic view of the speedway is a true embodiment of Japan’s natural beauty harmonizing with the excitement of motorsports🌸… We encourage you to visit the circuit and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes through the seasons!
Owen Maki, through circuit announcements and promotional video narration 🎙️, is honored to share this experience with fans, drivers, and the production team! ✨ Thank you for your ongoing support!
