Born in Japan and raised in the United States from the age of seven, Owen Maki has seamlessly embraced both “worlds” throughout his life. Frequent travels between these two cultures endowed him with a deep appreciation for the nuances of language. This unique background naturally led him into a thriving career as a bilingual narrator, on-air host, and event MC.
Among his notable achievements, Owen’s voice work for Unicef and J-Wave’s “HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR CHILDREN” earned the Grand Prix Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award at the ACC CM Festival in the radio category. He also served as the bilingual announcer for the Rugby World Cup’s opening ceremony in Japan and provided P.A. announcements for its final match. Furthermore, he was the P.A. announcer for the men’s soccer final at the Tokyo Olympics, showcasing his ability to excel on the world’s biggest stages.
Renowned for his ability to captivate audiences, Owen’s narration consistently delivers messages that resonate deeply across diverse contexts.
